According to Marvell's official website, China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has approved the company's proposal to acquire Inphi. The transaction is expected to be completed in April 2021, and the approval of Inphi and Marvell shareholders is still required, and shareholders of both parties will vote separately on April 15 local time.

There was news in October last year that Marvell was about to acquire Inphi for approximately US$10 billion. According to the news, Marvell will pay 60% of the acquisition amount in the form of shares, and the rest will be paid in cash.

It is reported that Marvell mainly produces storage, analog, digital signal, embedded and logic chips, with a current market value of approximately US$26 billion, and Inphi is mainly responsible for providing high-speed analog semiconductor solutions. If the acquisition is finalized, it will help Marvell expand the scope of its Netcom business.
